Botox® is used to temporarily improve the look forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows. Often without noticing, the muscles between your brows regularly contract causing the skin to furrow and fold, and squinting your eyes cause the muscles around them to create crow’s feet in the skin. Botox® works to temporarily reduce the muscle activity that causes facial wrinkles to form in these areas. Botox uses a special protein to block overactive nerve transmissions and decreases muscle contractions. Through this mechanism, Botox helps to relax muscles beneath the skin. Botox can correct overactive muscles that cause gummy smile and overactive muscles that cause TMJ/grinding issues.
Botox® treatment requires minimal downtime and the recovery time is brief. You should be able to get back to your normal day-to-day activates as soon as your appointment is over. Expect to see noticeable results within 7 days with results lasting up to four months.
